Visual Arts

Start slowly on Spruce Street and then circle back around Hemlock Street --- you’ll happen upon more than a dozen distinctive art galleries, their wares running the gamut from fine art and craft to glassworks to bronze.

You’ll encounter an impressive array of work by internationally celebrated artists as you wander, but local tradition dictates an emphasis on more than just selling art; patronage, too, is our priority.

Cannon Beach is also home to a gallery collective as well as an arts association with its own non-profit gallery dedicated to supporting both established and emerging artists. And those, we’ve got in spades. Watercolor, oil, glass and metal are among the mediums chosen by local working artists.

They set up shop in garages, spare rooms, and studios, they draw inspiration from a stunning palette of seasonal colors, as this haven is perfectly suited to the creative temperament. Artists regularly open their studios to visitors or set up easel right inside a local gallery, and our arts community also collaborates on an exciting bill of annual fundraisers and events.

Art, a solitary pursuit? We think not.
