Camping

Whatever your definition might be of rugged life, we invite you to enjoy some fresh ocean air as you leave the world behind and sleep outdoors under the stars.

Picturesque, recreation-rich and often historic areas await you with private in-town campgrounds (yes, in town, walkable to downtown or the beach) plus nearby state parks to discover. Bring your tents or primitive site gear in preparation for an overnight or several day stay.

Open year-round with the promise of adventure you’ll find different choices here with various levels of support services and difficulty of access. Choose from “car camping” tent sites to cabins and yurts, or perhaps even primitive sites popular for horse camps.

Don’t forget that visits to state parks and campsites may require a day-use permit with nominal fees. Overnight permits (especially in the popular summer months) need to be reserved from 2 weeks up to as far as 8 months in advance.

Long stays may require up to a 12 or 24 month permit.
