As of March 22nd the City of Cannon Beach is closed to visitors per City Resolution 20-11 & 20-12 until April 6th, when it will be re-evaluated. The following closures are in order throughout Clatsop County until April 30th: Short term lodging & vacation rentals; campgrounds (public & private); public pools and bathing facilities.

Cannon Beach Fat Bike Festival was the first Fat Bike Festival on the Oregon Coast! Come and enjoy a weekend of fun Fat Bike events and explore the beaches & quaint community of Cannon Beach by Fat Bike. Events planned throughout the weekend include sunset beach ride, scavenger hunt, and bonfire with Fat Bike games and activities. Bring your friends & family and join us for our 3rd Annual Fat Bike experience on the Oregon Coast!

Friday, April 24th

5-7pm | Packet pick up and registration @ Cannon Beach Chamber,  207 N Spruce St

7-8pm | Fat Bike Meet Up - Meet at the Chamber at 7pm for a sunset beach ride along Ecola Creek and on to Haystack Rock to kick off the weekend.


Saturday, April 25th

9:30am | Meet at Klootchy Creek County Park for organization into group rides. 

10am-12pm | Ride the Klootchy Creek Trails with members of local trail group, the North Coast Trail Alliance. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level rides will be offered. (Free recreational permit required for registration, link above). Where to park and meet: Google Map Klootchy

Beginner Ride – Laps on a one or two-mile beginner friendly course with easy climbing and descending.  

Intermediate Ride – Laps on a mile up and mile down flow/jump line trail with easy climbing.

Advanced Ride – Laps on a mile up and mile down steep and loamy fall line trail. An energetic climb!

2-4pm | Scavenger Hunt – Pick up your Scavenger Hunt Guide at Cannon Beach Chamber Office and begin your adventure! This activity can be done by bike or on foot and your family is welcome to join you on this interactive hunt to find the hidden treasures and wonderful places of Cannon Beach!

7-9pm | Beach Bonfire and Fat Bike games. Meet at Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site (in front of Mo’s Restaurant) to enjoy a bonfire, brews and fat bike beach races and games. 


Sunday, April 26th

9-9:30am | Meet at Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce to check in for ride to a waterfall. 

9:30am-12:30pm | Fat Bike Beach Ride to Waterfall. Guided 13-mile beach ride to waterfall and back. Enjoy a picturesque beach ride past Haystack Rock and along the old “Oregon Beach Highway” to the beautiful waterfall at Hug Point.
