The Haystack Rock Awareness Program and the Cannon Beach Arts Association invite you to join Brianna Ortega, artist, instructor and local HRAP environmental interpreter to celebrate Cannon Beach’s local mascot, the Puffin. Brianna will lead you through an educational drawing class where you will learn firsthand through experiencing the local birds at Haystack Rock, just how you can connect your own life to the Puffins and other migratory sea birds. Learn how you can contribute as a change maker for ocean stewardship by thinking about belonging and migrational patterns as they relate to humans and birds at Haystack Rock’s marine garden and wildlife refuge. Once inspired, use your creativity to make several postcards using colored pencil perfect for mailing out to special friends or family, celebrating previous places lived that you feel connected to.
This is a kid friendly class for ages 13+ All artistic levels welcome in class, beginner + All materials will be provided for class use.
This new series is made possible due to grant assistance from the OCVA, Oregon Coast Visitors Association.
