Luxury abounds in this stunning home at the edge of Chapman Beach in Cannon Beach’s quiet and breathtaking north end. As you emerge from your car into the beautifully landscaped front yard, the sounds of the ocean beckon to you from just on the other side of the house. Inside, you’ll find ocean views from almost every room in the house, lavish finishes, gorgeous decor and four bedroom suites, each with a California king bed and featuring their own en suite bathroom.
Just stepping through the door reveals an immediate peek at views this house has to offer, just past the entryway through the back door at the dunes and ocean beyond the expansive back deck. To the right, this entryway opens into the gorgeous kitchen which looks out over the living room and dining room a few steps below. The kitchen features a long island with a sink, dishwasher, microwave, induction cooktop and oven all situated so that you won’t miss out on the landscape through the large west-facing windows while you’re crafting meals for your group. The back of the kitchen holds the Sub-zero refrigerator and a coffee station; and at the end of the space you’ll find a small pantry situated below stairs leading up to one of the bedroom suites; as well as a wet bar nestled between the kitchen and the steps leading down into the gorgeous dining room.
This space holds a table large enough for up to eight adults to linger after a delicious meal, while still enjoying the views through the living room past the dunes to Haystack Rock in the distance. After dinner, there’s plenty of room for all of you to step into the big, cozy living room and enjoy cocktails around the beautiful stone fireplace or to switch on the 120" projection theater for a late-night movie.
Behind the kitchen, stairs lead you up to the home’s north bedroom suite. This space has the distinct advantage of having Haystack Rock views from almost every single inch of it. As you step through the door into this large space, you’ll find yourself in a sitting area with doors leading to a private deck to the left. To the right, the room opens into a very large bedroom with a luxurious California king-sized bed, marble fireplace and en suite bathroom. This bathroom suite has a toilet and a step in shower with a bench seat. The open design of the bathroom and the glass-walled step-in shower mean the views continue here as well; so whoever chooses this room during your stay can literally enjoy views of Haystack Rock from their bed, deck and even while taking their morning shower.
Back down the stairs, through the living area and past the entryway, a wide passage leads to more luxury. Along the left side of this hallway, you’ll find the only two rooms in the main part of the house without views: a large, well-appointed utility room with a washer, dryer and folding station with a small sink, as well as a beautiful half-bathroom complete with a bidet-toilet. On the right side of the hallway, you’ll discover the next of the home’s large bedroom suites. This room features a California king-sized bed, cozy sitting area, chess table and views across the large deck below, across the rippling dune grasses to the waves beyond. This bedroom also has its own open design en suite bathroom with a bidet-toilet and step-in shower that includes a tile seat with a steam shower.
At the end of the hallway, you’ll pass another exterior door on your left that opens to the east side of the house and a door to the garage ahead before heading up the stairs to the right into the next bedroom suite. On the wide, open landing at the top of the stairs is a small work area with a desk and windows peeking out over the lovely yard in front of the house as well as views across the open stairway out to toward the Pacific. Inside the bedroom, you’ll find a California king-sized bed, comfy chair situated next to a gorgeous tiled gas fireplace, a small desk, a walk-in closet and another large, open-design bathroom with a step-in shower that includes a tile seat and a steam shower.…all with views across the dunes to the waves beyond. This is the only room that has air conditioning.
After exploring the main part of the house, you’ll find it hard to resist wandering out into what may actually be the best space this home has to offer: the oceanfront deck that opens into the beach dunes beyond. There are ocean views from literally every inch of this massive deck stretching along most of the house and featuring a 13x31 pool with an integrated spa tub. The owners keep the pool at 90 degrees and the spa at 104 degrees year round. You will also find plenty of comfy seating, a very large grill with plenty of prep and serving space, and an outdoor showerstation just down from the north end of the deck. Off the south end of the deck, you’ll discover another lovely gathering place with a fire pit and seats for seven with plenty of room to add more.
From either end of the deck, you’ll find it easy to access the beach via trails through the beach dunes.
Between the deck and the fire pit area, you’ll find the last of this home’s fantastic surprises: a cozy mother-in-law suite with its own separate entrance. The door leads you into a small sunroom with a bench perfect for kicking off your sandy shoes before wandering into your ‘secret’ haven. This suite features a California king-sized bed, a cozy sitting area with a couch big enough for three and a tv, a very nicely-appointed full-sized bathroom and a lovely kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, sink and coffee station. While the peekaboo ocean views here aren’t quite as striking as they are in the main house, this room is perfect for those in your group who prefer their own space and will love having separate access to the home’s gorgeous outdoor spaces.
From the beautiful artwork, lavish decor and high-end finishes, this home offers every comfort you might desire, all just steps away from secluded Chapman Beach. With Oak Street House, you’ll find yourself in the lap of luxury right on the rugged Oregon Coast.
