The Walter House-Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals

The Walter House 3 bedroom 2 bathroom pet friendly cottage in down-town Cannon Beach just steps from the beach. Sleeps 6. Family memories are waiting to be made at The Walter House, where you’re just a few steps to the beach! This classic Cannon Beach cottage has hosted generations of families and is just waiting for you to add your own special experiences to its heritage. A beautiful stone fireplace greets you in the newly refurbished front room where you’ll find lots of lounging on a big wraparound sofa. There’s a nice big TV for watching movies, the game or binging your favorite shows. Or, pull up the coffee table and break out some board games or cards; this comfortable room is for everyone to hang out together. The roomy kitchen, featuring original knotty pine cabinets, and dining area are on the back half of the house, with steps though to the laundry, back yard and downstairs bath. Be sure to look for the rustic art piece with generations of beach finds attached to it... how old must some of these be? Seems the Walter family was into collecting beach debris before it was chic! Upstairs you’ll find three comfortable bedrooms, one king, one queen, and one with two twin beds. Be sure to open up those windows at night and drift off to the sound of the waves and have a peek at the ocean in the morning. The upstairs bathroom is a relaxer’s delight, featuring a claw-foot tub that’s perfect for soaking in the antiques-filled room. Trimmed out with a shiplap ceiling and beadboard walls, you’ll feel like royalty at your wash up. When the weather’s fine, you’ll love hanging on the front porch, listening to the waves and watching the sea.. from your perch, there is a beach access trail directly across the street; you're literally steps to the beach! The little back yard is an ideal place to settle with a drink and a good read when you want some privacy, and is a great place to look for the neighborhood’s resident Bald Eagle. It roosts in the tall trees on and surrounding this property and is seen almost daily. Look to the tree tops where it will be roosting and watching the goings on. Pull up and park the car in your designated spot.. you won’t be needing it for your travels around town! Located just above downtown, The Walter House offers an easy 2 block walk down 1st Avenue to cafes, shops and galleries. Ready to head to Midtown? It’s just a half mile stroll away for more galleries, bike rentals and Sleepy Monk Coffee! As you wander through the house, take note of some historic Cannon Beach art on the walls, including a darling portrait of The Walter House by acclaimed local artist Jeffrey Hull. Captioned “Heaven’s a little closer in a house by the sea”... we couldn’t agree more! Pause with these old photos and local art and be sure to capture at least one photo of your visit.. you’re making Cannon Beach history of your own!
