Bird Watching

Haystack Rock is a National Wildlife Refuge, home to nesting Tufted Puffins and many other seabirds during spring and summer. Brown Pelicans glide over the ocean’s surface during non-winter months and Bald Eagles cruise the skies year-round. Our beaches, rocky shores, woodlands, wetlands and estuaries make Cannon Beach a great bird watching destination throughout the year. Other locations popular with birders include Ecola State Park, the Cannon Beach Nature trail along Ecola Creek and the 2nd Street lagoons.

Saddle Up for a Ride

There’s something romantic about riding horses on the beach. Sea Ranch Stables offers guided rides throughout the summer. Experience a romantic sunset ride or explore the shoreline to Haystack Rock during the day.
