This event promotes Native authors, illustrators, and publishers. Kitchen will also perform songs to inspire and educate participants about Indigenous history, contemporary issues, and American Indian music. Come sing, listen, learn and celebrate Native American Heritage Month. This is a family program – all are welcome. Children can stay after the stories for crafting.

Karen Kitchen is an indigenous storyteller, a Pre-K through 12 educator with Portland Public Schools, and a researcher and advisor for Portland State University.

To preserve, honor and respect the sacred nature of the songs and performances, livestreaming and recording will not be available.
