Announcement Regarding Leadership Transition
The Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces a leadership transition as Executive Director Jim Paino concludes his tenure with the Chamber starting on August 17th, 2026.
Jim's history with the Chamber spans more than a decade. He began his service in 2013 as Administrative Assistant, advanced to Executive Assistant and Membership Coordinator from 2014 through 2018, and was appointed Executive Director in 2018.
During his tenure as Executive Director, Jim guided the Chamber through a period of significant change. He helped lead the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, supported our business community during an unprecedented increase in visitors to Cannon Beach, and worked alongside countless volunteers, businesses, and community partners to promote our town.
Jim also played an important role in the continued success of many of Cannon Beach's signature events, including the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest, the annual Fourth of July Parade, Haystack Holidays, the Stormy Weather Arts Festival, and many other community celebrations that contribute to the unique character of Cannon Beach.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we thank Jim for his years of service and for the dedication he has shown to the Chamber, the City of Cannon Beach, its residents, local businesses, and the many visitors who enjoy our community each year.
We wish Jim all the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his many contributions over the past 13 years.
The Board of Directors remains committed to ensuring a smooth leadership transition and continuing to serve our members and the Cannon Beach community. Additional information regarding the search for the Chamber's next Executive Director will be shared as it becomes available. During this time of transition, Laura Kaim will be acting as interim director.
