Highlights from the Festival
Kickoff Party & Sunset Beach Ride
Begin your weekend on Friday evening with a lively kickoff party and social gathering at Public Coast Brewing Co. Meet fellow participants, enjoy great company, and get ready to ride! Then, take to the sand for a stunning fat bike sunset ride along Ecola Creek and past the iconic Haystack Rock, setting the tone for an unforgettable weekend.
Epic Beach Ride to Hug Point
Start Saturday morning with a guided 13-mile ride along the sandy shores to Hug Point. With the low tide revealing the way, you'll cruise past Haystack Rock and along the historic "Oregon Beach Highway," ending at the breathtaking waterfall at Hug Point.
Fat Bike Adventure Tour
Explore Cannon Beach in a whole new way! The Fat Bike Adventure Tour takes you on a self-guided journey to discover fun and interesting landmarks around town. Using the Experience Cannon Beach app to guide your adventure and track your progress, participants compete for prizes for the most locations visited and, new this year, the most miles logged!
Beach Party
On Saturday afternoon, head to Tolovana Beach for a lively celebration! Join fellow riders for Fat Bike games, sample local brews and sparkling non-alcoholic beverages from Pelican Brewing Co., and enjoy snacks and camaraderie. It’s the perfect way to relax and share stories after a day of riding.
Klootchy Creek Trails Adventure
Wrap up the weekend on Sunday with guided mountain bike rides at the Klootchy Creek Trails, hosted by the Northwest Trail Alliance. These scenic trails offer the perfect mix of challenges for intermediate to advanced riders, providing a thrilling finale to your fat bike weekend.

Renting a Fat Tire Bike
No fat bike? No problem! This year, we’ve partnered with A’s Bike Shop to bring you Fat Bike Rentals—delivered right to you for the festival!
Andy from A’s Bike Shop has a limited supply of bikes available, so be sure to call and reserve yours early! He’ll bring your rental to our opening festivities at Public Coast Brewing on Friday, May 16th, and pick it up after the beach party on Saturday, May 17th—making it super easy for you to ride and enjoy the weekend.
Rental Options:
Acoustic Fat Bikes – $100 for 24-hour rental (includes delivery & pick up)
E-Fat Bikes – $200 for 24-hour rental (includes delivery & pick up)
Bike Delivery: Friday, May 16 – Public Coast Brewing, 4 PM
Bike Pickup: Saturday, May 17 – Beach Party, 5 PM

Friday, May 16, 2025
5 - 6:30 pm | Packet pick up & social gathering @ Public Coast Brewing Co., 264 E 3rd St, Cannon Beach, OR 97110
6:30 - 7:30 pm | Fat Bike Sunset Ride - Leave from Public Coast Brewing Co. at 6:30pm for a sunset beach ride along Ecola Creek and on to Haystack Rock to kick off the weekend.
Saturday, May 17th
9:30 am - 12 pm | Fat Bike Beach Ride to Waterfall. Meet at the Bandstand at City Park (directly behind the Chamber office) at 9:30 am. We will start with some stretching and leave at 10 am sharp for a guided 13-mile round-trip Beach Ride. Enjoy a picturesque beach ride past Haystack Rock, along the old “Oregon Beach Highway,” and to the beautiful waterfall at Hug Point. Staff will be scattered throughout points on the ride to assure safety.
12:00 pm - 3:00 pm | Fat Bike Adventure Tour. Get ready to explore Cannon Beach like never before! We’ve combined highlights from the Cannon Beach Coast Self-Guided Walking Tour, the Art Tour, and added a two-wheeled twist to create a brand-new, thrilling experience: a self-guided fat bike adventure through the town’s most fascinating and fun locations.
Using the Experience Cannon Beach app, you’ll embark on a treasure hunt to discover hidden gems, check in at key spots, and uncover the stories and charm of Cannon Beach along the way. Whether riding solo or teaming up with friends, this adventure is all about exploring at your own pace while competing for awesome prizes!
What’s in store:
- Ride through Cannon Beach’s iconic landmarks and lesser-known gems.
- Check-in at each destination using the app to track your journey.
- Win prizes for the most locations visited and, new this year, the most miles recorded!
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is your chance to experience Cannon Beach in an exciting, interactive way. So grab your fat bike, fire up the app, and let the Fat Bike Adventure Tour begin!
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm | Fat Bike Beach party, games, and local beer sampling. We meet at Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site (in front of Mo’s Restaurant) to enjoy beach bike games & races, local brews, and camaraderie. We will have several activities set up along a stretch of beach and rotate small groups through each game/race/task where you will compete for prizes. Pelican Brewing Co., will be there to give samples of their delicious beer and other non-alcoholic beverages. Prizes for “The Fat Bike Adventure Tour” will be handed out at the beach party.
Sunday, May 18th
12 pm - 2 pm | Back again this year - Guided Mountain Bike Rides at Klootchy Creek Trails. Join members of the Northwest Trail Association (local bike club) on this fun guided ride of the local mountain bike trail system. This is a great ride on your acoustic fat bike or Class 1 E-bike. The local bike club maintains this local trail system, but the trails are on private land, and the landowners do not allow any bikes that have a throttle. There will be options for Intermediate to Advanced level riders. Please indicate your skill level at registration.
The Klootchy Creek Trail system is just 5 miles outside Cannon Beach, just off of Highway 26 at Klootchy Creek County Park. Here is a link to where to park & meet to ride the trails: Klootchy Creek. Google Map HERE!
